I'm a clinical psychologist and CEO of Sleep Psychology of California. I
I've been helping people and studying sleep for nearly twenty years. My goal is to help you next.
I've worked with people from all walks of life - college students to retirees; people who recently developed sleep problems and those who struggled for decades. I'm prepared to help you next.
As a clinical psychologist, I combine my understanding of the physiological and psychological drivers for sleep , as well as what gets in the way, to help each individual sleep better. As an adult diagnosed with ADHD and former insomniac, I use my lived experience to communicate and connect with my clients, and to customize treatment for however your brain works. As a native New Yorker who spent most of my professional life in California, I bring a down-to-earth sensibility to myccmpassionate engagement in the therapeutic process. I am an active therapist - I will not just nod and say "uh huh" - but will aim to challenge you to go deeper, to feel the discomfort, and to do the thing you've been avoiding doing. But I'll be right there with you, supporting you along the way.
I've spent years working on all aspects of sleep - research that includes physiologically measuring sleep, providing CBT-I to groups of people who also have PTSD, training other providers on how to ethically use technology in the service of mental health care, and more. The breadth of my professional experience allows me to help people with even the most complex sleep issues. And it also motivates me to share what I know about improving sleep as a public health issue.
Fun fact about me: a lifelong dog-person, I discovered the joy of cats in my 40s. We currenlty have 2 who rule the house, but we will add a dog to the menagerie at some point. So feel free to have your pet(s) nearby during our teletherapy sessions!
